Lothar Matthäus, Loathsome Megalomaniac
If only we were as important as Lothar Matthäus. Fresh from his humiliating game of footsies with the Greeks, the spikey-haired coach of Hungary's pitiable national football squad made an ass of himself all over again earlier this week, by storming out of RTL Klub's studios ten minutes before he was set to be interviewed on talk show "Esti Showder". Did someone in the green room tease Lothar about the pathetic performance of his team, or his ridiculous hair? Nope - the former German super-footballer bolted because he was forced to wait for 40 minutes to tell his sorry story. "Lothar Matthäus left. No kidding." host Sándor Fábry explained to his audience when the great sportsman failed to appear. "Über wonderful!"
The press chief of the Hungarian Football Association said Matthäus did not want to keep his family waiting - that's part of his family above, we think - and had told RTL that he couldn't wait more than half an hour. But Matthäus is known to dislike interviews with journalists, usually answering three questions at most.
In the past eight years "Esti Showder" has been running no guest has canceled a headlining appearance, much less walked out of the studio right before being scheduled to go on, meaning that at least Matthäus can claim to have broken one record during his increasingly-brief looking spell in Hungary.
