Foreign Hipsters Mesmerized by Mumbling, Morose Hungarian Novelist

Lots of people seem to think that this article in the Guardian about a mob of New York literati crowding into a dank room to hear a rambling talk by Hungarian novelist László Krasznahorkai (inset) – who “deals in despair and metaphysical stasis” – is good news for Hungary. We agree: It could all be taking place in Budapest, rather than New York.
