Way back in December of 2010 we had a crazy story about a maniac who stabbed a horse to death in front of its teenage owner on a street in the Pest county village of Érd and ended up being fined just Ft 10,000 (€36) for the dastardly deed. Now it turns out the creaky wheels of justice in Hungary have been turning over the case ever since, and have finally struck a blow for “Felhő” (“Cloud,” pictured left, after bleeding out). A court here in Budapest sentenced the horse-killer to a year in prison, and also banned him from “public affairs” for a year, and from ever keeping animals, which seems a bit strange, as our first reaction was that he should be kept in close quarters with lots of animals, bound and gagged and with a pork chop tied around his neck.
