In a tacit admission that Budapest’s metro trains are really just speeding deathtraps waiting to self-immolate, metro drivers are now being issued with gas masks in the not so unlikely event that the train catches fire.
The reason for the masks is to make sure the driver does not become incapacitated and can drive the train to the next station, which no doubt will be staffed with extra ticket inspectors, to make sure only paying passengers are permitted to flee the inferno. [index.hu]
UPDATE: The masks, it turns out, are actually quite flammable and are only useful for about a minute.

the last line alone made my day. thanks pestiside!
>only paying passengers are permitted to flee the inferno

Hold on… I think they are referring to MUSK and NOT MASK…
