With tourist-fleecing season in full swing, Index sent out two of their reporters posing as naïve tourists to see how easy it is to get ripped off, managing to go through €100 in half a day, and that’s even without meeting some of the local ladies.

Then
a Portugese accent I’ve heard in a long time
again, most of the local hyenas couldn’t tell the

For the last time… it`s spelled P-O-R-T-U-G-U-E-S-E !!! How hard is it to get it right?! Gosh!
The past few years have been brutal for tourists and ex-pats traveling to Hungary. It seems that many simple items cost twice as much as in the States. A short list of what is outrageously expensive in this rusty little WWII-esque nation… Ciganos at the train station, simple light bulbs (in the USA 4 for $1), paper products, cheap pens (USA 12 for $1) McD, gasoline, the cost of doing ANY type of business, taking YEARS to get through a simple legal hearing, parking a car (more simple and less expensive in NYC), trying to find decent, healthy food in a restaurant, furniture (people nearly give it away in the US) and last but not least any form of Public Transportation. The best part of all of this is the hospitals and police. Call a cop and they just look and almost laugh about assault or theft and unless you live in Telki, your hospital prolly looks like a storage facility or an abandoned elementary school. But hey, “Let’s keep moving forward by fleecing em’ ”
Peace out biotches!
