Last Thursday the following appeared in our anonymous tipjar/suggestion box:
Guys, What about a summer photo competition for the biggest, most expensive car that has a disabled sticker in the window? [No] prize for the winner, but I think a real reader’s fave…
Sounds like a good idea – especially because we already have our first entry, and it’s a juicy one!
By an amazing coincidence, just a few days before our correspondent wrote in, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s van (above) was photographed while incorrectly parked in a handicapped space in front of the Képviselői Irodaház (office building for MPs) on Széchenyi rakpart. According to index.hu, the vehicle, which was being driven by one of the PM’s drivers, was photographed by an apparently outraged Socialist MP, Tamás Harangozó, and the pics soon made their way around Hungarian cyberspace.
While the van isn’t that swanky, and the infraction doesn’t really conform to the traditional bogus disabled sticker or double-space luxury car hog approach to the illegal use of handicap parking places in Hungary, we’ll cut Orbán a little slack and say he’s now our #1 handicap parking douchebag. But note that there is lots of competition…
UPDATE: Holy shit, it wasn’t the first time.

Parking means leaving a car unattended for an extended period of time.
Stopping is allowed as long as the driver is in or around the car. If one of the few really disabled drivers needs the space, the car will be moved out of the way.
Posting lame articles like this will soon be a major offense, punishable by public hanging for first offense. Careful now.
Hail to the Chief!
