BREAKING NEWS: Budapest Police Caught on Camera Upholding the Law

margit-hid-cops.jpg

In shocking news, we can report that we actually saw Budapest police writing a ticket to a cyclist on the Margit Bridge who did not dismount his bike, and we even managed to get a picture of the incident. And lest you think this is a one-in-a-million occurrence, later that day we saw a car pulled over for a traffic violation. Should we be expecting the four horsemen any day now?

  1. Indecent Exposure says:

The next ticket went to the guy who has more hair on his legs than on his head.

  2. Biking Béla says:

Does it even say dismount on the bridge?! I do out
of courtesy but come on they should catch some real
    criminals!

  3. Baseball Bat says:

Hungary’s Finest don’t like to hang out in bad neighborhoods. Fighting crime doesn’t pay.
They make good money beating up peaceful demonstrators, so why bother with the heavy stuff.

  4. PiP says:

There is a small, barely noticeable sign at the entrances of the fenced corridor on the bridge.

Good to see BPs finest collecting that ever so important bakshish…wonder where they were last Tuesday when my friend’s girlfriend (a petit 20yr old hippy chick) was assaulted and mugged on Margitsziget at 3 in the afternoon?

  5. C'est Moi says:

It would be great if they started handing out tickets to the assholes on scooters and motorcycles who ride on the sidewalk. It would be such an easy way for the city to raise some revenue.
