A water tower holding 1,000 cubic meters of water exploded in the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County town of Fehérgyarmat on Tuesday. Miraculously, no one was hurt, but 10,000 people were left without water for hours in the town and nearby settlements. The site remains littered with pieces of metal, and several electric poles and cables were damaged, causing a power outage in the vicinity of the tower. The cause of the explosion is not known but it was “probably methane gas,” the authorities said. Click the link for more awesome pics. [origo.hu]
