Yes, I know the dearly departed Pestcentric had a jibe at this a few years ago, but as you’ll see, Burger King managed to update the sign, and screw it up even more. So let’s translate their sign back into Hungarian, minus misspellings, just in case someone on their end actually sees this: “A mosdókat a négy-számú kód ellen lehet használni amit ön a számlával kap amikor a vendéglőt megvásárolja. Kérjük, ne dobják el a számlát.” Well, that’s a real bukta.

Believe it or not, Burger King restaurants can also be found in the USA. No code required to access the bathroom. People may wash their hands before they eat. Go figure.
Not always true Bad English. BKs in city centers often lock the
bathroom doors to keep homeless people from coming in and
using them (and to keep people from coming in to use the
bathrooms without buying anything).
There are also Burger Kings in central Budapest
where you don’t need a code to use the toilet.
I think all the info is there in the incorrect
English sign to still be able to work out how to use
the toilets. Though yes, you do have to see the sign
first to know that.
I sometimes go to Burger King branches where you
need a toilet code and ask the security guard (!!!)
for the code so I can wash my hands before buying
and eating. OK, I can speak Hungarian but I would
hope the security can too as part of their job
description to assist tourists in this great city.
I hope the BK at Arany Janos has a bathroom code, the swarms of bums on the square -they are not homeless as they show up everyday to get pissed again with different clothes – would turn it into the same shithole they have done with the square.
