Portal Editors Either Not Paying Attention or Busy Predicting the Future

We’re not sure if origo.hu has a crystal ball or not, but this screengrab from their site a few weeks ago featuring an illegal pálinka distillery — in the entrepreneur’s section no less — essentially predicted Fidesz’s plans to relax the ban on the production of Hungary’s #1 homemade hooch. Then again, if they plan on making the stuff in a literal (and not figurative) pigsty as this operation was, it’ll likely end up tasting something like this.

Pfff. You call that a distillery? If you want to distill stuff correctly, you’ll invest the $200 in a proper distillation apparatus.

It’s possible to distill good booze using the equipment found in chemical laboratories.

For anyone intereted, there’s a really good Austrian site on making pálinka – even if you don’tt know German, the pictures here of home-distilleries from all over the world are marvelous!
