Taser Bandit Gets Rude Shock

2009 ended with a rude shock for a robber who attempted to stick up a jewelry shop in Győr on Thursday using a Taser, or some other variety of electroshock weapon. After lurking around the store pretending to use the gizmo as a phone, the robber grabbed a salesgirl by the hair and threatened to give her a jolt unless she turned over the jewels. But the plan sputtered when two pedestrians saw the commotion and, somewhat shockingly, intervened.
