Slav Snipers Keep Low Profile in Budapest

Some interesting local news in the areas of law enforcement and national security today. Over on Caboodle.hu we see that corruption and counterfeiting are the focus of the three-day “Kriminalexpo” international conference that kicked off this morning. But more interesting still is this report from Macedonian news agency MINA about how the country’s elite “Tiger” sniper squad had grabbed third place (behind Russia and Ukraine) in something called the “Sniper World Cup,” which also seems to have taken place recently in Budapest.

The Tiger’s sniper unit is also known in being able to take out targets at 1,500 meters distance with 100% accuracy which makes them one of very few units in Europe and the only ones in the Balkans that can do that.

We say “seems to have taken place recently” because the report is pretty hazy, and there doesn’t seem to be a homepage for the event in question, even though it seems to take place in Budapest every year. Then again, if there’s anything more important to being a good sniper than getting a clean headshot at 1.5 kilometers, it’s not letting anyone know you are even in the country.

100% accuracy only gets you to 3rd place?
How did the other guys snipe? Two marks with one bullet?

  2. 1 Shot 1 Kill says:

    Russia, Ukraine? – 100% + 50000 Euros!
