Not for the first time, budget airline Wizzair has pissed on (happiness is a worn pun) its customers by canceling a flight and leaving them to fend for themselves for the night. Around 80 Hungarian passengers were left stranded at Beauvais Airport in the wastelands outside Paris last Wednesday after their flight was pulled due to some technical fault or other. The travelers were forced to stay the night but received only a food coupon worth €4 (admittedly 1 cent more than some of them may have paid for their flights – see pic) and up to €70 per person to cover accommodation, huffs Index.hu. Consumer groups insist that passengers should have been compensated for the cost of the flight, as well as providing food, drinks and accommodation, and €250 to stop them complaining to the press. The stranded Hungarians eventually arrived in Budapest at 12:30 on Thursday and duly ran straight to RTL Klub. Be warned.

My flight to Palma De Mallorca was more than 5 hours late this summer. So instead of 6am, we left after 11am (got to the airport at 4am with a 1.5 year old child). They totally kept us in the dark about when we would leave, until half an hour before the flight took off. Bravo!
Really? It amazes me to no avail that people cheap enough to fly WizzAir – where the applause at the end isn’t for a nice flight, but rather as a thanks to whatever deity you believe in for survival – are whinging about the lack of extras they received. I was stranded in Beauvais with them because they “lost” my paperwork saying I had booked an extra bag and as such I owed them 300 Euro to board my flight. I told them to “fuck off” and rescheduled until they found my paperwork. When I wrote to complain to their customer service the response was stone cold silence. Getting four euro off them is pretty much amazing. I’m stunned. Either way cheapos flying WizzAir (myself included, although that lesson is learned and it’s Limey Air for me or bust) need to sit down and shutup.
NEVER AGAIN WIZZAIR
