Elderly Man Discovers Trabants Are Not Light-Rail Vehicles

Via firefighter portal Langlovak.hu, (which has more pictures), we found the story of an elderly man who decided to test out how well his Trabant would perform on the local tram tracks. Apparently the old geezer wasn’t paying attention when he pulled onto the tram tracks, (better than driving through a farmer’s market), and managed to traverse about 300 meters before his trusty East German clunker got stuck. This must have seemed like a better option than throwing the sucker into reverse and getting back on the street. Firefighters responded and literally lifted the vehicle off the tracks themselves. Of course, the old man’s car has nothing on this tricked-out Trabant.
