Hungarian Ambulance Services Would Like To Deafen You

hungarian ambulanceCiting an apparent failure to take heed of emergency vehicles, the National Ambulance Services have announced a plan to make their sirens even louder, writes Index.hu. Pál Torbágyi, director of the National Ambulance Services stated that drivers all too frequently ignore ambulances and do not give them the right of way, saying that this is because drivers can’t hear the sirens, as opposed to just being assholes. The solution to this problem, according to Torbágyi, lies in new fancy lights and louder sirens, meaning that in the future you’ll be able to tell the approach of an ambulance not just by its sound, but by the bleeding ears approaching you as ear drums burst in its wake.

  1. Odin's lost eye says:

The reason drivers do not give way is not that they cannot hear the sirens, but they do not know where the ambulance is. Making the sirens louder will do no good. The cure is simple ther should transmitt a burst of “Localizer” or “White Noise” every few seconds. This lets the other driver’s ears clear and realign on the source of the noise.

  2. anonbp says:

No, its just that they are assholes.

  3. Captain Planet says:

I like your nice scientific argument Odin but I would rather go down the Hungarian slandering lane and go with anonbp on this one.

  4. Zoltan says:

I’d say rude driving applies to most people from Central and Southern Europe.

  5. Captain Planet says:

Argument settled, gold goes to Zoltan with his, “everyone else is doing it” slant. That walks all over the assholes argument.
