Authorities Terrified of Figure-Skating Little Children
As it does every year, the Prime Minister's Office (MeH) is sponsoring an ice-skating rink in Budapest during the holiday season that will be open to all, for free. But due to concerns over security following the riots and disturbances of September and October, the venue will be changed. After the police said its usual location in Kossuth Lajos tér next to the Parliament building could not be properly secured, the MeH decided to put the rink in the parking lot of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, next to the Lánchíd (chain bridge). In case you just quickly read over that, let's repeat the main point of the story: the police are afraid of the threat to the government posed by people going figure skating during the holidays, most likely with their children.
This can only mean that the people allegedly running Hungary are either a) insane; b) even more chickenshit that we suspected, or c) both. You can go check it out for yourself between December 23 and January 2, the dates the rink is scheduled to be in operation. And remember to tell your kids to tie their laces up and not try to overthrow the constitutional order. Christ.
