Pöttyös Proves a Mouthful for Italian Kids
While the debate rumbles on about Hungary as a Brand on the Caboodle forums, it is important to take a look at the other, more positive, side of the coin from time to time. Aside from our porn industry, of which we are rightly proud, the other main feather in the Hungarian cap looks like being the Túró Rudi. After successful launches in Slovakia and Romania, the first shipment of the not-so-sweet sweet left for Italy on April 23, says news portal origo. The milky/cheesy/chocolatey product has hit Auchan supermarket shelves in three flavors, strawberry, milk chocolate and hazelnut, and is expected to be a hit based on its success with tasters at the CIBUS food show in Parma. But to make demanding Túró Rudis from their parents easier for Italian kids, the cute Pöttyös brand name has been translated to the decidedly un-cute "Dots". Oh well, you can't have everything.
