Local Cutie Wins US Accolades, Pisses off Homeland

An offline story in Star picked up by ma.hu shows local blonde stunner Edina Pantinchin achieving the feat of appearing in the American edition of Playboy - while also perfecting that all-important skill of offending Hungo countryside-dwellers. The invitation to take off her clothes for the September edition of the man's mag followed her participation in a beauty contest named "Hawaiian Tropic," held in Las Vegas. But it seems that back home, hearts didn't glow with pride about the Hungarian going Hawaiian.

It was claimed that she "begged" and "lied" to get into the stateside contest without going through the Hungarian heats. "I didn't say anything that is not true," Pantinchin insisted to the reporter of Star. "I didn't think the Hungarian round was worthy for me to participate in. It would have been like [Megasztár 1 winner] Vera Tóth going to a [talent show] in the Hungarian provinces (vidék)." Yeah, that would be almost as bad as having to do a gig in a "crappy provincial cultural center" (tahó vidéki művház), in the words of TV host Henrik Havas's ill-judged gag.
