Outrage as Neighbor-Thrashing MP Shielded by Parliament

Last May we reported that creepy-looking parliamentarian Tibor Kékesi (right) had become embroiled in an ugly war with his District II neighbors over his decision to install surveillance cameras around his house, and his alleged beating of a local woman who took issue with the Socialist MP's habit of parking in front of her garage. A year later the feud continues, and now more than just Kékesi's neighbors are in on it.
Right-wing daily Magyar Nemzet reports that a group of women demonstrated in front of Socialist headquarters on Pest's Köztársaság tér yesterday to protest the fact that Kékesi still hasn't had to answer charges relating to the alleged neighbor-thrashing, which took place back in 2003.
While the victim, Mária Kaló, turned to the police, and in 2004 the Immunity Committee of the Parliament recommended that Kékesi be stripped of immunity, the Socialist-controlled Parliament has failed to act. So there you have it: If you get beaten up by an MP from the party controlling Parliament, it's probably best to hire some goons to give him a good thrashing, rather than waste your time going to the police. Make sure, however, to first disconnect any spy cameras he may have set up.
