New Kid in the Block: Pixel Bistro
So far, the kert survival rate/death toll reads one apiece. But as of Saturday, outdoor types can rejoice once more: Pixel Bistro has joined the garden party roll call. The café/bar/club is situated in typically strange surroundings (which is, after all, what makes these urban gardens so goddam cool), opposite the imposingly socialist-style Erkel Theater on the slightly frightening Köztársaság tér. But that is all forgotten once you stroll through the doors into the concrete courtyard, which stretches the definition of kert to breaking point.
No matter, the vibe is nicely relaxed for now and manager Gyarmati Zsolt is confident that the venue will be rocking once summer really kicks in. "We think the best way to filter your clientel is through music, so we are looking to offer something for the more discerning public, with regular DJ events every night of the week." Keep an eye on the features section on Caboodle for a bigger and better review, or just head down there and see for yourself - and don't forget to let the world know what you think.
