Nudie Pic News (III): Botched Cover Gets Penthouse Editor Sack

In the last of today's series on nudie pics and celebrity Hungarians, a seemingly harmless photo mix-up has led to the resignation of Attila Lénárt, the editor of the Hungarian edition of international men's magazine Penthouse. Late last week Lénárt stepped down as a result of the so-called "Brigitta Erdőhegyi scandal," in which the wrong racy photo of the attractive young Hungarian pop singer was put on the cover of the sort-of-dirty magazine. "Brigitta Erdőhegyi can't appear in a magazine without panties," said Erdőhegyi's manager, József Kiss. "Though we didn't specify that she must wear a bra, but in that case, the terms were that her breasts must be covered with some type of clothing," Kiss said. On the cover photo, Brigitta is covering her breasts with her hands. Or at least two nicely-shaped orb-like objects that appear to be breasts. But more on that later.

Kiss told velvet.hu that the contract between Erdőhegyi and the magazine gave the singer the right to choose the photos that would appear in the magazine. When Kiss was sent a mockup of the cover, he gave thumbs-down to the photo that Penthouse's staff had chosen - a thumbs-down Lénárt or his people either ignored or didn't clock. Now Kiss is demanding Ft 50 million (€201,000) in compensation for his client for the snafu.

"A mistake has been made," Lénárt conceded. "The photo which [Erdőhegyi] approved and the one that was eventually published are in fact very similar." Lénárt later admitted that Penthouse should have been more careful when selecting the photo for the cover, but maintained that Ft 50 million is too much.

While lawyers for the two sides are apparently locked in negotiations over whether or how much Penthouse should pay Brigitta for showing her without panties on the cover, everyone is keeping quiet about what we think was really the problem, namely the fact that someone seems to have stolen the poor girl's nipples. Meanwhile, no one is seeking compensation for the injured party with the most serious grievance of all: the average schmo who plunked down Ft 795 to see the much-ballyhooed Erdőhegyi spread, only to discover that the dirtiest picture is on the cover.
