Miskolc Man Uses Net Muscle to Pester Pécs

The triumph of Pécs as Hungary's entry for the 2010 "European Capital of Culture" has apparently resulted in some classic damn-thy-neighbor-for-doing-well Central European mischief. According to fn.hu, an unidentified man from the eastern city of Miskolc - one of the runner-ups for the ECC2010 - is the person who recently registered the Internet domain names www.pecs2010.net and www.pecs2010.com, both of which lead to a goofy-looking site promoting an even goofier-looking contest for the best male and female "pecs" in Europe.

The city of Pécs is considering taking legal steps against the genius behind the "Man and Woman Pecs European Championship 2010" because of the supposedly "obscene" content of the site, even though it is one of the least obscene sites we've ever seen, at least in Hungary. In other words, they are only pissed in Pécs because, like Budapest, they snoozed and forgot to register the names themselves. Plus, now they are really going to have to spend the next five years explaining to everyone that it's "PAECH" - not "PECKS."
