Hungarian Rightists Thank French Leftists for "No" Vote
According to Magyar Nemzet, the rightist Jobbik Magyarországért Mozgalom ("Movement for a Better Hungary") thanked French voters for voting "no" in Sunday's referendum on the EU constitution by "picketing" the French embassy with signs saying "Köszönjük – Merci." (Merci, if you don't remember, is French for "thanks," though in this case it might be better translated as "Ha ha ha - bet you never thought it would come to this, Commie Frog pigdogs!")
"Not only has the EU Constitution failed in the referendum in France, but the whole European Union [has failed] in a political sense," Jobbik wrote in an announcement. "The 'no' was given to a centralized, bureaucratic, corrupt power and giving up national autonomy in a country which - unlike Hungary - clearly benefits from the subsidy and market regulation systems of the EU."
No word on the reaction of the diplomatic mandarins in the French embassy, who we can only imagine were horrified at the spectacle of the traditionally Francophobe Hungarian nationalists "thanking" them for the torpedoing of the EU constitution by a largely left-wing French electorate. On the other hand, it could have been a whole lot crappier.
