Spielberg, Hunk from "Troy," to Summer in Hungary
According to local webzine Moziplussz.hu, Hungary has scored a major international film deal. Its report, which has been picked up by other media, tips Budapest as the location for the production of Steven Spielberg's drama "Munich," about the massacre of Israeli athletes during the 1972 Olympics in Munich. Needless to say, this is very, very good news. Because aside from all the money and attention that superdirector Spielberg's production will bring to Hungary, the film apparently stars Eric Bana (right) the dark-haired hunk who showed teen heartthrob Orlando Bloom to be the narrow-chested dickless zero he is in last year's historical epic "Troy."
According to a follow-up in Népszabadság, work has already begun on the film, in which Bana will play a Mossad agent. Also starring is someone called Daniel Craig, who is okay, but no Eric Bana (pictured again at left). Craig apparently has done several pictures in Hungary, including Holocaust-drama "Sorstalanság." Meanwhile, "Vengeance" could be the second time in recent years that Budapest has doubled for a German city during the Cold War; 2001's "Spy Game" had BP playing East Berlin, while the spies were played by Robert Redford and Brad Pitt, who are both pretty hot, as long as Eric Bana isn't available.
